Em 1984, após ver a reportagem de Michael Buerk, da BBC, sobre a fome na Etiópia, Bob Geldof começou a imaginar o projecto de um disco cujas vendas revertessem a favor dos países mais pobres. A par com Midge Ure, começaram o sonho da Live Aid, gravando o tema a 25 de Novembro do mesmo ano, numa maratona de 24 horas, com alguns dos melhores músicos da época. A 13 de Julho de
22 anos depois, continuam a morrer pessoas de fome por todo o mundo.
Por todos aqueles que lutam como podem para o mundo seja melhor, e assim se superam e se tornam mais completos, simplesmente porque acreditam que podem fazer a diferença; que se despojam de si mesmos em prol dos outros.
Por todos aqueles que morrem de fome a cada minuto que passa, porque a ajuda ainda não chegou.
Por todos os artistas que, ano apos ano, cantam esta música com a mesma força e a mesma esperança.
